In recent years and ever more frequently in Italy and abroad, many schools have decided to include yoga and meditation in the curricular activities, to the benefit of teachers and students alike. Indeed, it is now well known that mindfullness activities are a great help those who suffer from stress and anxiety. However, there is still little talk of the benefits of mental relaxation for the brain, through meditation, which include a whole host of positive implications relating to learning ability, attention levels and to ability to overcome obstacles calmly and also faster.
Most of the children who attend primary schools today will go on to do jobs that do not yet exist. The world of business is one of the most sensitive to factors such as speed and volubility, so changes cannot and should not cause anxiety and stress. Children are therefore be prepared for rhythms that go against their natural instincts, rhythms that mean that what is right and true today will not be tomorrow. There is an every greater need for flexible minds that have been prepared to accept endless possibilities for change, so that these can become opportunities for growth.
